Just prior to Thanksgiving the local organizations donated items to the Mecosta VFW to support local veterans and their families. Ice Mountain donated turkeys for us to distribute and the local Girl Scouts lead the way by donating over 3000 items of food. The Mecosta VFW contacted local agencies to help find families for the donations. And made-up gift baskets prior to Thanksgiving. The leftover items of food were donated to other local organizations to help get the items to families before the holidays.
